There are certain preconditions deciding the nature of the sports.  These have actually originated from their traditional counterparts. There is an extreme culture involved and it is because of this, these are separated from the traditional sports.  There are sports tampering happening now days but in earlier era, games were organised in a nice manner.  One of the important things existing those days was the pleasant sportsmanship. The extremer sports have taken the world by storm. These new games have entirely changed the face of the sporting events. Not only this, they have defined a new culture. Such sports have bought a challenge to the player. One needs to know what exactly the extreme sports are. It is not all about the bloodshed but fun element has to be there.

Extreme sports – what it boasts about

In case of extreme sports, there is more of youthful demography involved. The enthusiasts in these forms of games fall in the category of generation X and Y. The teen agers are very much involved in these extreme adventures. The majority of the players are in their thirties. There are some who have less age for example Nyjah Houston is skating since the age of 5.  The athletes with an extreme bent of mind are highly competitive in this area.

Gerd Muller started his career with Nordlingen club. He joined Bayern Munich in 1964. He made his presence count and soon made his debut at international level against Turkey in 1966. In quick time he established himself as a striker in the side.

He performed incredibly at the World Cup in 1970 at Mexico. He scored 10 goals from 6 matches. This included two hat-tricks in a row versus Bulgaria and Peru. He was awarded the Golden Boot for being the top goal scorer in the event. But the team could not win the World Cup trophy. Italy defeated them 4-3 in the dramatic semifinal despite Muller scoring two goals in it.

The most glorious part of his career came in 1974. West Germany became victorious in the World Cup as hosts. Muller scored the winner in the final match against Holland. This was his fourth goal in the event.

Few reasons which make football a tremendous success are -

A) Duration – It is a shorter game of less duration.  Many other games are too long and require much time. It is a physically tough game that is hard to your bodies. Players require rest after playing it. As a result, the season of this sport is comparatively shorter. Each and every match has great value as fewer matches are played. Any match could prove deciding in nature and this catches the attention of spectators.

B) Variety in playing positions – Football offers various playing positions. Although at higher levels they have separate strikers, midfielders and defenders and their roles are specified for their positions. But at lower levels like school games and neighborhood park children play at all positions and that makes it even more interesting.

C) Team Sport – This sport requires the effort of whole team. A single player can not win the game for you and all members have to contribute.

D) Even chances to win – On a particular day any team can win the match. In many other sports the stronger teams usually dominate. But, in football results in the past show that even unknown teams can win championships.

E) Physically tough sport – Playing football requires good physical toughness to withstand the difficult tackles and rough play. It is a highly aggressive sport that requires killer instinct to win. This makes this sport a real challenge
